What I know
0% Knowledge of writing windows drivers
0% Knowledge of filesystem code
10% How Captive NTFS work under linux
20% How to emulate an os with QEMU
50% Howto make basic smb networking work

2. Discussion
CAPTIVE NTFS
The simple description is, that captive ntfs, emulates a windows enviroment, redirecting system calls to this. There by using windows drivers to readwrite NTFS.
Why not use this principle the other way round ?
Run an embedded linux, under qemu, with no display, and with samba acces ?
But wait, theres more.
By doing this, i would have a basic Samba server, that can read write anything as long as it isnt NTFS. I would of course filter out fat partitions( no need for reading those)
The only thing to watch out fore is to be sure the filesystems are unmounted correctly.

3. Goto Work
Well thats what i will do.
Want to join me?
